Producer's Commentary
The was project took about six months to complete including scripting (written by Marianne Ahern), production, and post-production for three 30-minute programs. One of the most complicated aspects involved the releases and insurance required to tape at numerous public and private locations including banks, restaurants, groceries, homes, movie theaters, and more. Additionally, the due diligence and documentation required to ensure that all the copyrights and clearances were in order for this nationally distributed series was a large component of the production management services.
Editing was completed using two Avid systems, an off-line and on-line system that I configured for the project. The open, graphics, and matte composites were created using a combination of Avid FX, Boris FX, and Digital Juice elements. The 2D cartoon at the end was created by Josh Been using Flash. The 3D animation of the dollar bills was created by Dave Mauriello of Magic Animation. Many of the music tracks in the series, including the opening theme, are original compositions by Rodney Whittenberg. The narrator for the series is Joan Jones. Jack Greenback is played by actor Dave Jadico.
